Lite Sunday at top of ’24 selection order … There likely won’t be a whole lot of change to the top of this week’s selection order for the 2024 draft, at least for this week as a result of today’s schedule as literally half of the teams currently sitting on top 8 picks aren’t scheduled today. Arizona and Washington, who would have had the 3rd and 4th picks respectively had the draft been held this past week, for example, have their byes this week; New England, at #2, played on Thursday; while the NY Giants and Tennessee, who would have had the 7th and 8th picks respectively this week, play on Monday night. Meanwhile, the teams with top picks that do play this week, all face relatively tough challenges. Carolina, with the NFL’s worst record, but who traded the top pick to Chicago last spring, for example, is in New Orleans, while Chicago, at #5 with its own pick, is in Detroit to face the NFC North leading Lions and the NY Jets, at #6, are in Houston.
