Race for top picks goes prime time … The race for this year’s top pick goes prime time this evening as Carolina will play Chicago in the Thursday night game in a match-up of teams sitting on the 2nd and 3rd picks respectively in the current selection order. In fact, at least in terms of the draft, it will be the Bears versus the Bears as Chicago currrently owns the Panthers’ #1 pick courtesy of a 2023 draft trade that ultimately netted Carolina QB Bryce Young. For the record, Bears’ QB Justin Fields, who has missed the last several weeks with a thumb injury, has been practising this week but has still not been cleared for contact and will be a game-time decision tonight.
