NFL passes on supp draft receivers … The first NFL summer supplemental draft in the post-covid era came and went earlier today with neither of the two players that were available being selected. That means that WRs Milton Wright from Purdue and Jackson State’s Malachi Wideman are now free agents free to sign with any team. Of the two, Wright is the more likely to be signed; he’s 6-2, 195 and had something of a breakout year in 2021 when he caught 57 passes, but was academically ineligible and did not play last fall. For his part, Wideman, who also has good size at 6-4, 190, originally signed at Tennessee, barely only had one catch with he Vols, before transferring to Jackson State where he also had a decent year in 2021 when he hauled in 12 TD passes, although on only 34 total catches, but played little last year.
