Sprained MCL for Clemson DE … If there was a downside to Clemson’s convincing 38-17 win over Oklahoma in yesterday’s Orange Bowl that earned the Tigers a date with Alabama in the national championship final on January 11th, it was that star junior DE Shaq Lawson, a potential top 15-20 prospect for the 2016 draft, was forced to leave the game with a knee injury. That is now being reported as a sprained MCL, which is not all that serious as knee injuries go; indeed, Lawson is hopeful that he may still be able to play in the championship game, although it may come down to one of those game time type decisions.
