Clemson DEs workout in private pro day … Still not sure who exactly showed up from the NFL, but Clemson DE Myles Murphy put on a pretty good show at a private pro day earlier today. Murphy had not participated at either the combine or the Tigers’ pro day because of a hamstring injury. However, after weighing in at 6-4.5, 268 Murphy was credited with a 4.51 clocking by the school. Even if that needs to be adjusted up to around 4.6 that’s still a very good time for Murphy who is currently being projected as a top 15-20 prospect. Murphy also had some relatively quick times in the shuttle drills of 4.26 in the SS, which would have been that fastest time at the combine for DEs that did that event, and 7.22 in the 3-cone drill. On the other hand, Murphy’s vertical of 31-inches wasn’t all that good, but probably won’t take anything away from his run times. Fellow Clemson DE KJ Henry also did the shuttle drills today – he had a 4.63 40 clocking at the combine – but wasn’t as quick with times of 4.63 and 7.43.
