Official LB 40 times posted … The official 40 times for the LB/ER grouping are here. Interesting that after the unofficial times were posted it appeared that this was a rather pedestrian group; however, it looks a whole lot better pretty much right across the board based on the official numbers which lowered the unofficial times from anywhere from a half second to a full second. In fact, there were some really good LB times including a position leading 4.39 by Auburn’s Owen Pappoe, as well as a quick 4.43 by Clemson’s Trent Simpson which will certainly keep in the opening round discussion. At the same time, Yasir Abdullah of Louisville, Dee Winters of TCU, Tulane’s Dorian Williams, and Oregon’s D.J. Johnson also snuck in just under the 4.5 mark. The official times also lowered Alabama DE Will Anderson’s time to 4.60, which still isn’t going to blow anyone away, but it certainly comes close to getting that box checked off. It there was a disappointing element to the LB results it may be that several of the leading second tier prospects at the position including Iowa’s Jack Campbell (4.65), Oregon’s Noah Sewell (4.64) and Alabama’s Henry To’oTo’o (4.62) did have somewhat pedestrian numbers.
