Sooners, ‘Horns to move to SEC a year early … After several weeks of rather intense negotiations, Texas and Oklahoma have agreed in principle to pay the Big 12 a total of $100M to join the SEC in 2024, a year earlier than they had originally intended. The agreement is still subject to the final approval by the Oklahoma and Texas governing boards, but that is expected to be pretty much a formality. Meanwhile, the Big 12 will expand to 14 teams for the 2023 season with the addition of Houston, Cincinnati, Central Florida and BYU this summer.
