Three more underclassmen enter draft … Three more underclassmen have announced that they will be entering the draft including Arizona junior WR Cayleb Jones. Jones originally signed with Texas coming out of high school, but transferred to Arizona in 2012 after being charged with felony assault for allegedly assaulting a member of the Longhorns’ tennis team for which he served two years probation for misdemeanor assault. However, Jones kept his nose clean with the Wildcats as he lead the team in receiving in both 2014 and 2015 in which he had 128 receptions for just under 2,000 yards and 14 TDs. The 6-3, 215-pound Jones is considered to be a mid-round prospect because while he is a big target he’s not necessarily that quick or explosive. Jones will be joined in the draft by a couple of Mountain West CBs in Damontae Kasee of San Diego State and San Jose State’s Cleveland Wallace. Kazee, the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year who had 8 interceptions this past season, could be something of an under-the-radar prospect; he’s not all that big at 5-11, 185, but runs well and does not shy away from contact as he had 75 tackles in 2015. Meanwhile, SJSU’s Wallace looks to be more a late round or free agent type; the Washington transfer did have three picks of his own in 2015 when he was named an honorable mention all-conference member, but he’s also not that big (5-11, 180) and projects to run in the 4.55-4.60 range. The addition of these three guys brings the number of underclassmen to have indicated in one or another that they plan to enter the 2016 draft to 32 by our unofficial count. Underclassmen have until January 18th to file paperwork with the NFL to be included in the upcoming draft. On the other hand, Washington State junior WR Gabe Marks has announced that he will return to school for his senior season in 2016.
