Key AFC battles hilite Sunday sched … There’s a relatively quiet week on the NFL schedule over the next couple of days as there are 6 teams on their byes. Still, there are a number of key matchups this week including Tennessee at Kansas City in a battle for one of the top two seeds in the AFC. Meanwhile, Buffalo which is the current #1 seed in the AFC will be New York to play the resurgent Jets. There’s also what was expected to have been one of the games of the year in the NFC where the LA Rams play at Tampa Bay in a match-up of the past two Super Bowl champions. However, with both teams struggling, this game is more about playoff survival than seeding. There will also be some shuffling at the top of the current 2023 opening round selection order as Jacksonville, which would have had the 5th pick were the draft held last week, will be home to Las Vegas which would have picked 6th. Meanwhile, Detroit, which is sitting on the top pick, will be at divisional rival Green Bay, while Carolina, at #3 will be at Cincinnati. At the same time, Houston, which lost to Philadelphia on Thursday, will have the first or second pick depending on what the Lions do in Green Bay, while Pittsburgh, at #4, is one of the teams on their byes. As usual, the weekly first-round selection order for the upcoming draft, at least for this week, will be posted after the Monday Night game.
