Sunday night college football preview … At this time next week we’ll be watching NFL football, but for this week, Sunday night football will be college football as Florida State plays at LSU at 7:30 PM ET on ABC. And it wouldn’t be FSU-LSU without some pretty good prospects on display, although they are almost exclusively Tigers. Indeed, LSU is the only program not named Alabama, Georgia, Clemson or Ohio State to have a player currently rated as a top 10 prospect on the initial GBN Big Board. That’s star WR Kayshon Boutte (#7, 6-0, 205), a legit top 5 prospect. Boutte could be joined in the opening round by DE BJ Ojulari (#18, 6-3, 245) who had 7 sacks last fall. In fact, the Tigers can get after the QB with Ali Gaye (#11, 6-5, 270) coming around the other side. Meanwhile, veteran DT Jaquelin Roy (#99, 6-3, 315) anchors the middle of the defensive front and FS Jay Ward (#5, 6-1, 190) heads the secondary. The big question for new LSU head coach Brian Kelly, last seen last fall at Notre Dame, is who starts at QB; either Jayden Daniels #5, 6-3, 200), a three-year starter who transferred in from Arizona State or talented redshirt freshman Garrett Nussmeier (#13, 6-2, 195). For its part, Florida State is coming off back-to-back losing streak and hoping to get back to football prominence, but doesn’t have a whole lot of talent to make it happen. The Noles, for example, aren’t going to have anyone selected in this year’s opening round. They aren’t even guaranteed to have anyone taken on the second day, although Akeem Dent (#27, 6-1, 200) and Jammie Robinson (#10, 5-10, 205) could conceivably get some 3rd round looks.
