CFL sensation has season-ending surgery

CFL sensation has season-ending surgery … The terrific Canadian league story being spun by B.C. Lions QB Nathan Rourke unfortunately came to a premature end yesterday when the former Ohio Bobcat underwent season-ending surgery to repair a Lisfranc foot injury. Through the first 9 games of the CFL campaign, Rourke had completed a remarkable 79% of his passes and was on pace to throw for over 6,000 yards and 50 TDs this season. Despite a productive career at Ohio Rourke went undrafted in 2020 and in fact the only free agent tryout he got was with the Giants but as a WR. What makes Rourke’s season even more remarkable is that he’s a Canadian and there really hasn’t been a native starting QB in the CFL literally since the 1970s.
