Giants Thibo to miss 3-4 weeks

Giants Thibo to miss 3-4 weeks … The whole Giants’ organization is breathing just a little easier this afternoon after an MRI confirmed that DE Kayvon Thibodeaux only strained an MCL in last night’s pre-season win over Cincinnati and will only be out the next 3-4 weeks. There had been fears that even though Thibodeaux, the 5th player selected in this year’s draft, was able to walk off the field on his own after he went to the ground clutching a knee following a cut-block and later told anyone who would listen that he was ‘good’ that the MRI might reveal some more serious structural damage. Given the time frame, it means that Thibodeaux will be iffy for the Giants season opener September 11th in Tennessee, but hopefully will be back for the home opener against Carolina the following week. It was a tough night for the Giants’ draft class as LB Darian Beavers, a promising later round pick, was also forced to leave the game with a knee injury that may very well be of the more serious nature.
