Watson suspension set at 11 games … The long, drawn-out saga related to Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson’s misadventures with masseuses appears to be coming to an end. The NFL and players association have reportedly settled on an 11 game suspension and a $5M fine. Watson had been suspended for 6 games by an independent arbitartor, but the NFL reportedly wanted a full-year suspension and appealed. The retired judge hearing the appeal, though, said he wouldn’t rule until it was clear that the two sides could not come to a settlement. Ironically, it appears that Watson will be eligible to play in week 12 of the upcoming schedule with the Browns scheduled to play Houston, the team that traded him to Cleveland this winter. It also appears that the Browns will be willing to live with Jacoby Brissett as Watson’s replacement during the suspension and will not look to trade for a veteran like the 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo.
