Bears, Giants reorg scout staffs … Once the draft is done is when teams usually start to reshape their personnel departments if they plan to do so. And at least two teams have taken major axes to their scouting staffs. Chicago, for example, has fired both college scouting director Mark Sadowski, college scouting coordinator Bobby Macedo and national scout Chris Prescott and have named Jeff King and Trey Koziol co-directors of player personnel. Given that most personnel deaprtments consist of a college scouting side and pro scouting unit, presumably one will handle one and the other the other, however, that distribution has not yet been announced. Meanwhile, new G.M. Joe Schoen continues to clean house as the Giants dismissed college scouting director Chris Petit and senior personnel executive Kyle O’Brien, a couple of prominent holdovers from the Dave Gettleman era. No replacements have been announced, but Schoen is expected to bring in some new people he is comfortable working with.
