Buck stars leaving … In the wake of today’s shocking last-play loss to Michigan State, star Ohio State junior RB Ezekiel Elliott reportedly told reporters this had been his last game “in the ‘Shoe.” Elliott’s comments pretty much confirm that he plans to apply for the 2016 draft, although it probably was not the way he wanted go out after gaining just 33 yards on 12 carries, which ended his nation’s-longest 15-game streak of at least 100 yards rushing. Elliott, though, may not have been at full speed as he reportedly played despite a cyst on his right leg that had him in the hospital fighting a 103-degree fever earlier in the week. Elliott is projected to be the first RB off the board this coming April, possibly as early as within the top 20-25 picks in the opening round. Meanwhile, it also appears that QB Cardale Jones will be headed elsewhere near year after he tweeted after today’s game that it was the “last time walking down them steps and into The Shoe, wish the results were different.” What isn’t as clear regarding Jones is whether this means he will also be declaring for the 2016 draft, or whether he will transfer to another school where he won’t be playing behind T.J. Barrett. Stay tuned!
