‘Hawks reportedly get Broncos 2nd in Wilson deal … Just a quick update on today’s blockbuster trade between Denver and Seattle in which the Broncos acquired star QB Russell Wilson for 4 picks and three players including QB Drew Lock. Once the deal is finalized on March 16th when the new football year starts, the Seahawks will get the 9th pick overall at the 2022 draft. They will also get the 40th pick in the second round. The Broncos will retain the 64th pick at the end of the second round which they acquired from the LA Rams last year. In fact, the Seahawks will have back-to-back picks in the second round this year as the 41st selection is their own. Of course, now that the Seahawks have moved on from Wilson the question in Seattle is what do they do at QB. Drew Lock is hardly a potential long-term solution at the position so is it now the Seahawks who think about drafting a QB in this year’s opening round or do they package some of that haul for a veteran. Or do they live with Lock for a year and think about making a run at one of next year’s really good young QBs like Bryce Young of Alabama or Ohio State’s CJ Stroud. Stay tuned!
