Lions back to #1

November 1, 2015

Lions retake top draft spot, Titans lurking … Detroit reclaimed the top spot in the current selection order for the 2016 draft after losing earlier today to Kansas City in London, while Baltimore, which came into the week at #2, won its second game of the year with a 29-26 win over San Diego. However, while Detroit will hold the #1 pick at least for this week, there is an asterix to the whole business as Tennessee, which like the Lions has only one win, has a significantly weaker SOS than Detroit, but has played one less game. On the other hand, who would pick third this week is to close to call as there no statistical difference in the SOS of 2-6 teams Baltimore, Cleveland and San Diego. Like the situation for the 1-2 picks, though, there is something of a caveat with the next few picks as Jacksonville has the worst SOS of the 2-win teams, but has played one game less. As usual, the full selection order will be updated after the Monday night game.
