Verdict in on Pickett hand size: they are small … Pitt QB Kenny Pickett finally had his hand measured at the weigh-in session at the scouting combine in Indianapolis this morning and they are indeed small, at least by NFL standards for the position. Pickett’s hand was measured at 8.5 inches one of the smallest figures ever for a QB at the combine. Whether it ultimately impacts Picketts’ final draft status isn’t clear, although teams, especially those that play in colder weather, usually prefer QBs to have big hands, all the better to grip the ball when conditions are less than ideal. In fact, it is believed that no current starting QB in the league has hands under 9 inches with most either close to 10 inches or more.
