More bonus covereage

More bonus coverage … As our own Pigskin Paul noted in his weekly prospects preview column, there really isn’t that one really ‘must-see’ game on this weekend’s college football schedule.  At the same time, though, there will still be plenty of prospects in key situations later today. And none is bigger than the Mississippi-Texas A&M game (7 PM ET; ESPN) where Ole Miss junior LT Laremy Tunsil (#78, 6-5, 305) makes his long awaited debut this season. Tunsil, a top 5-10 prospect for the upcoming draft, has been suspended so far this fall for accepting improper benefits that somehow only came to light after that bizarre incident in which Tunsil got into the middle of an argument between his mother and stepfather. What makes Tunsil’s debut against A&M so intriguing for pro scouts is that he’ll be going head-to-head with sophomore DE Myles Garrett (#15, 6-5, 255), arguably the best pure pass rusher in college football these days, although as a true sophomore he won’t be draft eligible until 2017. In fact, one knows its a weak week on the schedule when the ABC prime time game involves Rutgers, but that will the case this evening when the bumbling, stumbling Scarlet Knights host top-ranked Ohio State at 8 PM ET. There likely won’t be many complaints from pro scouts though who are really hoping to see Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo (#4, 6-1, 215) against the talented Buckeyes’ secondary. Carroo, who is listed as a game-time decision because of an ankle injury suffered last week, is expected to play but may not be 100%. Carroo, who like Ole Miss’ Tunsil missed some time as a result of a bizarre family-related altercation earlier this fall, has been one of college football’s top big-play threat this year as he has averaged 22.5 yards and scored a remarkable 9 TDs in barely 4 games played to date.
