Bowl season kicks off … The 40 or so game college bowl season, which culminates in the national championship game on January 10th, gets underway with a couple of games on Friday. Toledo and Middle Tennessee will actually get things going in the Bahamas Bowl which kicks off at noon ET tomorrow on ESPN. Then Northern Illinois will face Coastal Carolina in the Care Bowl with KO at 6 PM ET on ESPN2. We, in fact, had someone ask this afternoon who they should be watching in the Toledo-MTSU game. We said nobody should be watching Toledo versus Middle Tennessee in the Bahamas or anywhere else in a bowl. There is a different story, though, in the Care Bowl between 10-win Coastal Carolina and 9-win NIU. And Coastal Carolina, in particular, has several players pro scouts will be watching including rangy TE Isaiah Likely (#4, 6-4, 240), one of the top 3-4 prospects at the position for 2022. In some ways the bigger question at CCU is whether star redshirt sophomore QB Grayson McCall (#10, 6-3, 210) will be back next fall as there have been some hints that he has at least not ruled out the possibility of transferring to a more prominent program this off-season.
