Lions inch closer to top pick; Jets back to #2 … Detroit, with somebody named Tim Boyle starting at QB, gave Cleveland all it could handle in one of today’s early games, but ultimately came up short at 13-10 to drop to 0-9-1. Given that every other team in the league now has at least two wins, that moves the Lions a little bit closer to clinching the #1 pick overall at the 2022 draft. Every other team in the league has now won at least two games because Houston went into Tennessee and stunned the AFC-leading Titans 19-13 for their 2nd win. And with both the NY Jets and Jacksonville losing today, picks 2-3-4 in the current selection order for the 2022 draft got jumbled again. Indeed, if the draft were to be held this week, the Jets would have the 2nd pick, followed by Jacksonville at #3 and Houston at #4. However, with the Giants now sitting on the 5th pick, at least for today, the rest of the top 10 picks and beyond won’t be confirmed until after tomorrow’s Monday night game when the Giants play in Tampa Bay.
