‘Big’ AFC East game hilites Sunday draft sked … Okay, so its not really a ‘big’ game, but the key matchup Sunday, at least from a draft perspective, though, has the 2-7 NY Jets, which would have the 3rd pick overall were the draft held this week, hosting 3-7 Miami, which is currently sitting on the 5th pick, although it actually belongs to Philadelphia as a result of a pre-draft trade last year. And there will be some shuffling at QB for both teams. On the one hand veteran Joe Flacco will start for the Jets over rookie Mike White who had been filling in for an injured Zack Wilson, the second player selected at the 2021 draft. At the same time, word out of Miami is that Tua Tagovailoa should be good to go for the Dolphins. He had come on in relief of Jacoby Brissett last weekend after missing time with a hand injury. Meanwhile, it is looking more like Detroit will be starting Tim Boyle at QB when the Lions, the NFL’s only winless team, play at Cleveland as Jared Goff, the team’s usual starter hasn’t been able to practice this week because of an oblique injury. For the record, Boyle, a 3rd year pro from Eastern Kentucky, has thrown all of 4 passes in his NFL career. Meanwhile, Houston, which would have had the 2nd pick overall were the draft held this week, is in tough with a road date at AFC-leading Tennessee, while Jacksonville, who would have picked 4th, will be hosting San Francisco. And this week’s Monday nighter will also have a bit of a draft flavor as the Giants, who currently sit on the 6th pick, will be at defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay. Enjoy!!
