Heels’ QB Howell coy on draft plans … There have been mixed signals from the North Carolina program about whether QB Sam Howell is headed to the 2022 draft. While technically a junior, Howell will be participating in the team’s Senior Day ceremony this weekend, which usually indicates a player is leaving; however, has been quoted as saying he has not made a decision yet about his future. On the other hand, UNC head coach Mack Brown is saying that he has never thought for a minute that Howell might return next year. Howell hasn’t had the expected year with the Tar Heels in 2021, but he is still considered to be a first-round talent.
