Star Duck DE returns; departs

Star Duck DE returns; departs … Star Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, the consensus favorite to be the #1 prospect overall at the 2022 draft when all is said and down, finally returned to the Ducks’ lineup full-time this afternoon after missing most of the first month of the season with a sprained ankle. And for much of the afternoon against Stanford, Thibodeaux looked like his old disruptive self as he helped the Ducks overcome a 10-point half-time deficit. In fact, it appeared that third ranked Oregon had survived Stanford’s upset bid as they had the Cardinal, down 7 and going nowhere offensively, pinned back inside their 20 with less than two minutes to play. That’s when disaster struck for Oregon which allowed an 87-yard game-tying scoring drive helped along by several key penalties. One of those was a targeting call against Thibodeaux that got him ejected from the game and suspended for the first half of Oregon’s next game. That’s in two weeks against California. Oregon then lost to the Cardinal in overtime, meaning that it is unlikely that any Pac-12 team is going to make it to this year’s CFP playoffs.
