College football injury update … Alabama, which lost starting ILB Chris Allen for the year with a fractured foot during the Tide’s season opening win Miami, got another injury scare this past weekend when rising OLB Will Anderson, the team’s best pass rusher, was forced to leave the team’s win over FCS Mercer this past Saturday after taking a helmet to one of his knees. Anderson was originally listed as questionable, but not has been upgraded to day-to-day. Nededless to say, Alabama would like to have all hands on deck when they play at #11 Florida this coming weekend. There is also better news for Kansas State QB Skylar Thompson who was thought to be possibly done for the year after he collapsed in a heap with an apparent non-contact knee injury in the Wildcats win over FCS Southern Illinois this past weekend. While Thompson will certainly miss some time, there are now hopes within the program that he could actually be back sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, there won’t be any such reprieve for Ohio State safety Josh Proctor, who will miss the rest of the year after undergoing surgery earlier today. Proctor, a late-round prospect for 2022, fractured his leg in the third quarter of the Buckeyes’ 35-28 loss to Oregon on Saturday afternoon. Interestingly, while technically a senior, Proctor still actually has two years of eligibility remaining.
