Another top DE to sit out opener … Baylor has suspended star DE Shawn Oakman, a potential top 10-15 prospect for the 2016 draft, from the team’s season opener later this evening against old SWC rival SMU. The 6-8, 275-pound Oakman who had 11 sacks last fall, was suspended for one of those violation of team rules things. Oakman will be joined on the sidelines this evening by junior FS Orion Stewart who was also deemed to have violated a team rule. Oakman, of course, is not the only big-name college DE to miss his team’s opener because for disciplinary reasons as Ohio State’s Joey Bosa, the presumptive #1 prospect overall for the upcoming draft will miss the Buckeyes’ game at Virginia Tech on Monday for an unspecified violation.
