Star SEC WR MIA … There is an emerging story at Auburn regarding the status of the Tigers’ star junior WR Duke Williams, an emerging prospect for the 2016 draft who has been absent from the team’s practice the past two days. Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn described Willims’ absence as a ‘discipline issue’ although it isn’t clear if the player is being disciplined for some off-field transgression or would-be disciplined for missing practice. Malzahn implied that Williams’ would be back sooner than later, but there is a bit of a buzz at Auburn that it isn’t out of the question that Williams might not be back at all. The 6-2, 225-pound Williams emerged as a big-play threat last fall when he caught 45 passes for 730 yards and 5 TDs after transferring in from a junior college last fall. However, he was suspended from the team’s bowl game and then this spring went on a tirade about the fact that he wasn’t happy at the school. Stay tuned!
