Big Board tweaked

Big Board tweaked … For those that haven’t noticed it yet, the GBN Big Board ranking the top 200 prospects for the 2021 draft has been updated based on the latest information we are hearing from around the league. The most noticeable change is that we have Alabama QB Mac Jones back in the top ten, making it 5 QBs in the top 10. At the same time, Florida TE Kyle Pitts has moved up into the #3 spot behind QBs Trevor Lawrence of Clemson and BYU’s Zack Wilson. Pitts may not go quite that early, but we keep hearing from our sources that they think he is the best non-QB prospect in this year’s draft class. At the same time, Alabama CB Patrick Surtain has dropped down a little bit to #16. Nobody questions Surtain’s instincts and superior technique, but there are concerns about his speed and athleticism. Surtain, though, will have a chance to address those concerns at the Tide’s pro day on March 23rd. For the most part, though, the top 2-3 of rows on our value board have remained remarkably consistent over the past couple of months with QBs Lawrence and Wilson in the top level, followed by TE Pitts, Oregon OT Penei Sewell and LSU WR Ja’Marr Chase in the next row, and then a group of up to a dozen players in the third row including QBs Justin Fields of Ohio State, North Dakota State’s Trey Lance and the Tide’s Jones, along with Alabama WRs DeVonte Smith and Jaylen Waddle; Northwestern OT Rashawn Slater, Miami DE Gregory Rousseau; Penn State LB Micah Parsons and Virgnia Tech CB Caleb Farley
