Texans say QB Watson trade ‘not gonna happen’ … Amid all the buzz around the NFL about disgruntled Houston QB DeShaun Watson’s unhappiness with the organizational and his desire to be traded, there hasn’t been much from the Texans’ front office. No longer, after G.M. Nick Caserio spoke earlier today at a press conference introducing new head coach David Culley. Caserio took a moment to comment on the Watson situation and said emphatically that the organization has ‘zero interest in trading the player.’ Of course, Houston wouldn’t be the first team to say ‘we will never trade that guy’ in an attempt to drive up the price. In fact, the Texans have reportedly received call from numerous teams asking about Watson, who led the league in passing this season, over the past few days, but the sense one gets these days is that Houston still hopes that the relationship with Watson can be repaired, especially with Culley, a minority offensive specialist, installed as the team’s new head coach. If it can’t and the Texans do end up fielding calls about Watson, the three teams with the most interest appear to be the NY Jets, Miami and Carolina.
