Jags confirm Baalke is as GM … Jacksonville has formally announced that interim G.M. Trent Baalke is now their full-time general manager. Baalke had been in the interim role since late November when former G.M. Dave Caldwell was fired. Baalke had originally joined the Jaguars earkier in 2020 when he was hired as director of player personnel. Baalke had previously served as G. M. in San Francisco. With the Jaguars, Baalke will work with newly signed head coach Urban Meyer. And while the team indicated euphamistically that they would be ‘working together’ there doesn’t seem to be much question that Meyer is the person in control. The real rebuilding of the franchise es expected to get underway in earnest on April 29th when the Jaguars have the #1 pick overall in the 2021 draft and are expected to select Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence.
