‘Phins, Panthers to coach Senior Bowl sides … While the rest of the country was watching Alabama knock off Ohio State for the CFP national championship last evening, the Senior Bowl announced staffs from Miami and Carolina will handle the coaching duties when this year’s game gets underway in Mobile later this month. Under normal circumstances, the two teams from each conference with the worst record which were returning their coaching staffs got the assignment, but there have been some whispers that given the whole pandemic thing the Senior Bowl was having some trouble getting anyone to volunteer for the job this year. In the end, though, form held, although it is interesting that Miami gets the gig for the AFC as they have the highest pick of any organization in the conference returning its coaches -#3 overall – but only because they acquired the pick in a trade from Houston. Senior Bowl week gets underway on the 25th later this month with the actual game scheduled for January 30th. Stay tuned for updates!
