Updated mock post

Updated mock posted … With the 2021 regular season in the books, we have updated our first-round projection for the upcoming draft. Again, the point of the exercise here is not necessarily to try predict which individual player particular teams will draft on April 28th. What we are trying to is figure out as best we can given the latest intel which players are likely to be available at the various different points in the draft. We’ll use the NY Giants as an example. By defeating Dallas on Sunday afternoon and dropping down to the 11th pick, the Giants probably played themselves out of a shot at either of elite WRs DeVonta Smith of Alabama or LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase. However, there’s a pretty good chance, especially if there is an early run on QBs, that the Giants will still get a shot at least some of the top non-QB prospects they would have been looking at had they ended up with the 6th or 7th pick. Indeed, in this scenario, Florida TE Kyle Pitts and Miami DE Greg Rousseau were both still on the board, as were several really good other prospects including Jaylen Waddle, Alabama’s other great receiver and Virginia Tech CB Caleb Farley. Translated: there are lots of options! Here you go!
