BYU QB featured in bonus coverage … Anybody who is being truly honest would have to admit that this past college football was pretty effed up. Some teams played pretty close to full schedules, while others played as few as 3-4 games. Every week games were cancelled or rescheduled such that was sometimes hard to figure who was actually playing who literally from week to week. The one thing that college football did get right was that it appears they ended up with pretty much the four best teams in the country in the 4-team national championship playoff. That gave college football the opportunity to say ‘hey we are in the middle of a devastating pandemic! We could show a little civic responsibility by going ahead with our playoff games which people actually care about, but maybe cancel the rest of the bowls – or at least those that haven’t already been cancelled – that nobody gives a rat’s ass about, but that do put our ‘student-athlete’s health at risk for the sake of a few sheckles in the athletic department’s war chest!’ But no! In fact, the rest of the bowl season has actually already started with Appalachian State beating North Texas in a truly unforgettable Myrtle Beach Bowl last evening. (In fact, hands up anyone who even knew there was a Myrtle Beach Bowl!) Today, Tulane and Nevada get to play in the Infamous Idaho Potato Bowl in beautiful sunny warm downtown Boise at 3 PM ET on ESPN and then this evening at 7 PM ET BYU plays Central Florida in the (I kid you not) Roofclaim Bowl in Boca Raton. (How and why in fact does one ‘claim a roof!’) All kidding aside, though, this game is actually worth a look as it will be the last chance to check out star BYU QB Zack Wilson, a legit top 5-10 prospect for the upcoming draft.
