Is Trevor Lawrence hedging on draft … There is a bit of a buzz around the NFL this day about whether star Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence, the presumptive #1 pick this coming April, might be hedging on whether he will in fact turn pro this winter after an interview with a local source earlier this week. Lawrence was quoted as saying that it was ‘kind of my mindset that I’m gonna move on, but who knows? There’s a lot of things that could happen. So just really focused on this year and not trying to look ahead. Not trying to worry about that.’ There has been speculation that Lawrence might pass on this year’s draft if the NY Jets end up with the first pick overall. The 0-7 Jets are the NFL’s last remaining winless team and don’t have a lot of talent to work with. Presumably, in that scenario, Lawrence would return to school and wait for the 2022 draft, but of course he wouldn’t have any more leverage at that time. Stay tuned!
