Former Cardinal QB Costello to Mississippi State … This should be interesting. Former Stanford QB K.J. Costello has confirmed that he has transferred to Mississippi State where he will be eligible immediately as a grad transfer. With SEC West Bulldogs, Costello will be paired with new Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach who brought his wide-open offense from Washington State. Costello had a breakout year in 2018 and was considered to be a potential strong second-tier prospect for the upcoming draft if he left school this winter, but struggled through an injury-plagued year last fall. If nothing else, figure that Costello puts up some intriguing numbers next fall in the new Mississippi State offense after what no-name transfers Gardner Minshew and Anthony Gordon did with Leach the past couple of years at WSU, although they are both now in the SEC which might be a tougher chew than the PAC-12.
