Cardinal QB, WVU OG to transfer … In a bit of a surprise, Stanford junior QB K.J. Costello has entered college football’s transfer portal and will likely be playing elsewhere next fall. The 6-5, 225-pound Costello was actually expected to enter the 2020 draft after a breakout year in 2018, but played in just 5 games this past fall because of a series of injuries including a concussion and thumb injury. As a grad transfer, Costello will be eligible immediately next fall. Same story for West Virginia junior OG Josh Sills who has also reportedly entered the transfer portal after missing much of the 2019 season with a shoulder injury that ultimately required season-ending surgery. In fact, Sills could actually have two years of eligibility if he wants as he’ll likely be able to apply for a medical redshirt. The 6-5, 330-pound Sills, who started 24 of the 27 games in his West Virginia career, entered the season on the watch list for the Outland Trophy after receiving All-conference honors as a sophomore last fall.
