Lions put 8th pick on shopping block

April 3, 2019

Lions officially shopping 8th pick … Detroit G.M. Bob Quinn went on record at the NFL’s annual meetings last week indicating that the Lions are defintely interested in trading down from the 8th pick in this month’s draft. According to Quinn “there’s really, from the late first to the third, there’s a lot of really good players in there so if I could ever move back a few spots, get a really good player in the first round and add another pick, I think that’s something that’d be great. So people out there listening, I’m open for business.” And the Lions could actually be in an enviable position to move down from that spot on April 25th. Assuming, for example, that Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State are off the board at that point, the 8th pick could be a prime target for teams like Cincinnati (at #11), Miami (at #13) and Washington (at #15) if they wanted to jump ahead of Denver at #10 in order to select Drew Lock of Missouri. Stay tuned.
