Where to from here … A most fascinating combine just came to a conclusion in Indianapolis earlier this afternoon. What made this year’s combine truly unusual, in addition to all the swirling rumors about Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray, was the fact that while we get top prospect or two blowing the top of the drills every year, it is just hard to remember a combine in which so many leading prospects had elite-like performances. This past weekend, for example, Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf, Alabama DT Quinnen Williams, Mississippi State ER Montez Sweat, LSU LB Devin White, and Michigan LB Devin Bush all had workouts with alltime elements. What’s it all mean? Hard to know. Certainly, it gives NFL personnel plenty to chew on over the next weeks. Only time will tell, though, whether those terrific performances significantly impact the respective player’s grade. If they do we could some reshuffling of the top ten and just beyond.
