OSU CB Sheffield tears pec in combine injury … Ohio State CB Kendall Sheffield, who had a chance to be the fastest player at this year’s combine, suffered what is believed to be a torn pectoral muscle during the bench press phase of the combine. Sheffield had an MRI to confirm the diagnosis and will likely have to undergo surgery if it is in fact a tear. Because of the injury, Sheffield was unable to run with the other CBs earlier today. He’ll also likely be unable to workout for scouts prior to the draft. Sheffield, a three-time Texas high school state champion in track who recently broke the Ohio State indoor 60-meter record, was hoping to break the 4.3 mark in the 40 at the combine.
