NFL releases official list of underclassmen in 2019 draft … Updated: The NFL has released it’s declared list of underclassmen eligible for the 2019 draft. The NFL’s list includes 103 underclassmen who have yet to graduate, plus another 32 juniors or redshirt sophomores who have graduated for a total of 135 who needed to apply; in addition, there were another 9 players who didn’t need to do anything other than notify the league they would be entering the draft. For the record, the 135 underclassmen in the first two categories is a record beating last year high of 119, although the 103 who needed to be granted special eligibility to be included in the upcoming draft is actually three fewer than last year’s record total of 106. The big jump this year was accounted for exclusively by those who have graduated which jumped from 13 last year to 32 this year. Whether that means that college players are getting smarter or is just a statistical blip remains to be seen. Still, that’s a lot of underclassmen entering the draft given that only 255 or so players get drafted period.
