Miss State QB Fitzgerald suspended for season opener … In a bit of a surprise, Mississippi State has suspended senior QB Nick Fitzgerald, a leading prospect at the position for the 2019 draft, from the team’s season opener versus FCS Stephen F. Austin on Saturday for an undisclosed violation of team rules from back in March. Fitzgerald reportedly will return to the starting lineup next week when the Bulldogs travel to Kansas State for a major early season road test.
