Badger CB Nelson tears MCL … Wisconsin CB Nick Nelson, a mid-round prospect for the 2018 draft, reportedly tore a meniscus during a private work out for an undisclosed NFL team. Nelson will require surgery and is expected to be out 3-4 months meaning that he could miss the start of training camp. It’s impossible to know exactly how this will impact Nelson’s draft prospects, but in the past the general rule has been that a player drops about a round with this type of injury. Nelson is the second prospect to be injured this week after North Carolina State DE Kentavius Street tore an ACL dyring a work out with the Giants earlier this week.
