More mixed results from today’s DB workout at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. First the good: Michigan State CB Trae Waynes may have wrapped up the top grade among cormers – and maybe put himself into the top 1o discussion – as he ran a 4.32 40. Meanwhile, USC’s Josh Shaw ran better than expected 4.44 as did unheralded Craig Mager of Texas State. On the other hand, there were somewhat disappointing times of 4.54 for Washington’s Marcus Peters, while Miami of Ohio PG-turned-CB Quentin Rollins had a 4.58 and PJ Williams of FSU a 4.57. At the same time, Kevin Johson of Wake Forest ran a middling 4.52. For the record, UConn’s Byron Jones did not run the 40 after breaking the bank on the vertical and long jumps.
