Pitt suspends 3 including top safety prospect … With fall training camp set to open on Monday, Pittsburgh has suspended three players including star junior safety Jordan Whitehead, for what is described by the school as a violation of team policy. Whitehead, a potential second day prospect for the 2018 draft, will miss the Panthers’ season opener against FCS Youngstown State as well as high-profile, non-conference games with Penn State and Oklahoma State. Also suspended for three games is senior MLB Quintin Wirginis, a career backup who was in a battle for the team’s starting job this fall, while junior OG Alex Bookser was suspended for the opener after a DUI arrest in May. Pitt also dismissed senior reserve DE Rori Blair for “conduct detrimental to the program.
