Senior bowl weigh-in about to start … The real Senior Bowl week is about to start at 10 AM ET with the beginning of the measuring of the players heights and weights. Not sure how it is going to work but the Mobile Register seems to be indicating that they are covering it live in some fashion. On a couple of related notes from Mobile, the Senior Bowl had held out some hope that Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, this year’s Heisman Trophy winner who led his Ducks to the national championship game, would accept a late invitation to participate in this year’s event, but he gave a final ‘no’ yesterday. While only technically a junior, Mariota would have been eligible as a 4th year player who has already graduated. The QB slot on the Senior Bowl roster that was being saved for Mariota will go to Auburn’s Nick Marshall, although most NFL teams would reportedly have preferred to see the one-time Georgia CB play in the defensive backfield. Meanwhile, Alabama FB Jalston Fowler, the top-rated prospect at the position for the 2015 draft, will also reportedly see plenty of snaps at RB.
