Bears QB Cutler done for year; forever??? …. Chicago announced earlier this afternoon that QB Jay Cutler will undergo surgery this weekend to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder and will miss the last five games of the year. Cutler will replaced by veteran backup Brian Hoyer when the 2-10 Bears host San Francisco in a major ‘draft bowl’ game on Sunday. If the draft were held today the 49ers’ would have the second pick overall, while the Bears would pick 3rd. Both teams are expected to be looking at QBs at the 2017 draft. Needless to say there is already speculation that Cutler has played his last game in Chicago; he’s on just the 3rd year of a 7-year deal, but all the guaranteed money has already been paid meaning it won’t cost the Bears anything to trade or release him. Stay tuned.
