Second ‘Nole declares for draft ... Florida State junior DE Mario Edwards became the second player from the program to announce their intention to enter the upcoming draft today. Earlier today, CB P.J. Williams had also announced his intention to turn pro this winter. Edwards is a second round prospect for the upcoming draft. Meanwhile, the NFL is waiting from to hear whether redshirt sophomore QB Jameis Winston will also make the jump to the NFL this year. Winston reportedly plans to wait until after Monday’s national championship game between Ohio State and Oregon to announce his decision. While most assume it’s a foregone conclusion that Winston will be entering this year’s draft where he is expected to be a top 5-10 pick despite some character red flags, he dropped some hints in the hours after Florida State’s loss to Oregon in the Rose Bowl that he might be staying; in particular, Winston said he was planning on playing baseball for the Seminoles this spring which would obviously conflict with pre-draft preparation. Stay tuned!
