Bowl prospects review … With all the bowl games, save for next Monday’s national championship game between Ohio State and Oregon, now in the books, GBN Chief Scout Pigskin Paul Guillemette weighs in with thoughts on players who caught his eye in this year’s bowls to date in a special post-season edition of the Weekly Prospects Review.
Combine schedule tweaked … CBS Sports is reporting that the scouting combine will shift its schedule somewhat at next month’s event in Indianapolis. In particular, the combine will start a day earlier this year so that the skill positions players including the QBs and receivers will be working out on the Saturday when television viewership is highest. The offensive linemen will still be the first group to workout, but their on-field testing has been moved back from Saturday to Friday. Meanwhile, the defensive linemen will workout on the Sunday with the defensive backs to wrap things up on the Monday. The 2015 scouting combine will run from February 17th thru the 23rd.
