8th round well underway … NFL teams have been frantically trying to sign the best undrafted rookie free agents to fill out their rosters since the end of the draft on Saturday. And while it will be awhile before all the signings are officially announced, a goodly number of signings have leaked out in one way or another. And a goodly number of the top undrafted prospects appear to have come off the board relatively early. For example, 7 of the top 10 undrafted players left on the GBN Big Board have already signed according to media reports. Former C West Virginia C Tyler Orlovsky, the top-rated guy left on our board, for example, reportedly signed with Philadelphia, while Jacksonville signed former Illinois OLB Carroll Phillips, the #2 player on the GBN list. In fact, the Jaguars signed two top ten undrafted prospects as they also inked former Middle Tennessee CB Jeremy Cutrer, who is ranked 7th. Meanwhile, the Giants were active signing the third, fourth, and fifth players on our list including offensive linemen Jess Dunker and Chad Wheeler and Notre Dame DT Jarron Jones. For good measure, the Giants also signed SS Jadar Johnson who rounds out the top ten. At the same time, San Francisco built on a strong draft by signing 4 of the top 30 undrafted prospects, while Dallas signed a total of 6 players on the list starting with #33 OT Dan Skipper. Here’s the listing of the top undrafted players and where they have signed.
