Emmanwori sizzles in safety run … South Carolina S Nick Emmanwori stole the show, quite literally, in this afternoon’s physical testing for the safeties. Already considered to be a potential opening round pick, Emmanwori blitzed a 4.38 40 running at 220 pounds; that was afer he had posted an almost equally ludicrous 43″ vertical leap. It was not as good a day for Malaki Starks, the consensus #1 safety for the upcoming draft who did have one of the fastest split times among the safeties, but his 4.50 40 time was good bt not great while his 33″ vertical was downright pedestrian. As fast as Emmnawori was he wasn’t actually the fastest safety today as relatively unheralded Marques Sigle of Kansas State was 1/100 quicker. In fact, like the corners earlier in the day the safeies that did run today were fast with several others includingKitan Crawford of Nevada (4.41), Billy Bowman of Oklahoma (4.43), Andrew Mukuba of Texas (4.46), Craig Woodson of California (4.46), and Virginia’s Jonas Sanker (4.48) all clocking in at under 4.5 seconds. Here are the full unofficial 40 times for the safeties who did run today.
